Chief Medical Officer

Yi Ming Lu M.D. Ph. D.

Dr. Lu is currently a Chairman and Professor at Department of Emergency Medicine and Trauma Center, Rui Jin Hospital affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. Also, he is a Director of AHA accredited Shanghai Rui Jin CPR Training Center, Director of Sino-France Research Center for Life Science and Genomics, Vice Chairman of Shanghai United Road Traffic Safety Scientific Research Center, Board Member of AAEMS (Asian Association of EMS), and Vice Chairman of PAD (Public Access Defibrillation) Committee.

He did his medical school studies from 1981 to 1987 and got his medical science master and Ph. D in Shanghai Jiao Tong University. After the traineeship and residency in critical care and emergency medicine in France (Paris, 1989-1993) and post-Ph. D. research work in the US (LSUMC, Louisiana, 1997-1998), he returned to Shanghai Second Medical University in 1993 and served as the Director of ED and ICU service at Rui Jin hospital. Rui Jin hospital is known for the largest teaching hospital in the city of Shanghai with approximately 320,000 critically ill patients and 7000 ambulances visits to ED every year.

Dr. Lu is a practicing emergency and ICU physician with extensive medical experiences. He also is a leading person of many academic associations in China including National Emergency Medicine Association, Chinese College of Emergency Physicians CCEP (EVP), Chinese Humanitarian and Disaster Medicine Association (VP), National Toxicology Society, and Shanghai College for Emergency Physicians (Chairman). As an expert in the field, Dr. Lu previously consulted government on topics ranging from civil defense, anti-terrorism, disaster management, EMS, helicopter rescue team, Red Cross, to poison control. Today, he published more than 130 articles in medical journals and edited 4 textbooks in emergency and critical care medicine receiving awards and prizes. Furthermore, as one of the founders of the Sino-France Research Center for Life Science and currently a director, he plays an important role to improve the cross national cooperation in bio-medical science research between France and China.

Hideharu Tanaka M.D. Ph.D. Professor

Currently, a Professor and Director of EMS system at the Graduate School of Kokushikan University and Research Scientist at Disaster Prevention at the EMS and Rescue Institute of Kokushikan University, Prof. Tanaka is also an appointed President of All Japan Paramedic Education Association, Committee Member of National Resuscitation Council, PAD Council of Ministry of Health Welfare and Labor, and Board Member of Japan Emergency Medical Society.

His academic career includes a medical degree from the Kyorin University of Tokyo in 1983. He completed his Ph.D. in Kyorin University Graduate School of Medicine/ EMSP fellowships in Tokyo Emergency Medical Services (TEMS) and pre-hospital care in Tokyo metropolitan government. He obtained his emergency physician board certification in emergency medicine in Kyorin university level 1 trauma, burn and critical care medicine (CCM). Thereafter, he spent two years training as research fellow of Cook County Hospital, University of Illinois. He was also appointed as a guest professor of University of Bergen, Norway. He spent more than 20 years as staff surgeon for Trauma and Burn, and Associate Professor for CCM.

Prof. Tanaka has been actively involved in research, focusing predominantly on pre-hospital resuscitation, PAD, CPR in school program. He has published several research papers on emergency cardiac care, trauma and burns. He has also published more than 40 papers in international and peer-reviewed journals.

Yang Zhou Liu M.D. Ph. D.

Dr. Liu is a Deputy Director of the Department of ED at Oriental Hospital affiliated with Tongji University. He also has an extensive experience in participating as a medical expert for various national level events including Shanghai World Expo and APEC. He is also a certified AHA ACLS and BLS instructor.

Bao Hua, Duan M.D. Ph. D.

Dr. Duan, Baohua, MD., Ph.D., physician, worked in Shanghai Jiaotong University of Medical School and majored in Haematology, Emergency Medicine. She is also an instructor of BLS, ACLS, PALS, PEARS courses of American Heart Association and an instructor of ITLS course of American College of Emergency Physicians.

Zhen Ye, Xu M.D. Ph. D.

Dr. Xu, Zhen Ye, is currently a physician at Department of Emergency & Trauma Surgery at at Rui Jin Hospital affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine and a Vice Director of Ruijin Healthcare Simulation Center and Ruijin Clinic Multidisciplinary Education Section.

In 2008, Dr. Xu attended a program at Erasmus University Medical Center based in Rotterdam, Netherland, for further study of emergency medical care (ETC) and emergency medical education and management. He also is a certified instructor of AHA BLS, ACLS, and ITLS.
